Paris Shopping

Anyone who loves designer fashions will enjoy shopping in Paris, France. Among the many types of stores in Paris are designer stores, department stores, gourmet food stores, boutiques, souvenir shops, flea markets and museum gift shops.

Many famous designers have stores in the city. Chanel, Dior and Prada are on Avenue Montaigne. This street is in the 8th arrondissement in the city. Paris is divided into 20 neighborhoods called arrondissements. The 8th arrondissment is on the west side of Paris. This area can be reached by taking the Paris metro. Gucci and Hermés stores are nearby on Rue de Faubourg Saint Honoré. A flagship Louis Vuitton store is on Champs-Elysées which is in the same area as Avenue Montaigne and Rue de Faubourg Saint Honoré.

Two of the department stores in Paris, Au Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, are on Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th arrondissement. They can be reached by taking the Metro or a city bus. Both stores sell designer goods, clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories and other items. Monoprix is a department store with multiple locations in Paris. Moderately priced items are available there.

Gourmet food stores, boutiques and places to buy souvenirs are located along Rue St. Louis en I’Isle. This street is near Notre Dame and can be reached by taking the Metro.

There are flea markets offering a variety of goods in the city. Marche d’Aligre is in the 12th arrondissement and can be reached by Metro. Produce can be purchased there. Les Puces de Saint-Ouen is just outside the 18th arrondissement. Metro stations are nearby. This market has new and used clothing, furniture, food and many other items.

The Louvre has a gift shop selling items relating to the museum’s collections. Visitors can take the Metro or a city bus to the museum. Souvenirs related to the Eiffel Tower can be purchased at a gift shop at the Tower. The Eiffel Tower is accessible by public transportation.

Some of the designer shops and department stores in Paris may not be open on Sundays. Many types of buyers will enjoy shopping in Paris, France.
